Wine Storage

The wine cellar at Corkscrew Village Self Storage has always been of interest to all the customers whether they stored wine or not. We are always happy to give them a tour of the wine storage area. We have had comments ranging from, "I don't need to store my wine, I drink it as soon as I buy it," to the man who drove a refrigerated truck filled with wine all the way down to Estero from Michigan. He unloaded and stored his wine and proceeded to drive the truck all the way back up to Michigan the next day. Many of our wine storage customers have used our facility to avoid the power outages from the many storms that we have in Florida. Now, of course, the threat of hurricanes makes it even more important to have your wine in a safe place that does have an emergency generator in case the power is disrupted. We do have an unexpected good thing about our location. Corkscrew Village Self Storage is on the same main power line as the nearby Publix store so the power company does not leave us without power very long. We have had some disruptions lasting an hour or two but only one lasting more than a day. That was about two and a half days from hurricane Charlie in 2004.
