Packing Tips

Packing is very important for your move.  We have for sale the items necessary for your move, if we can help in that way.  But, many of our tenants come from other places away from Florida, to relocate to this Paradise.  Please do not sell the packing process short.  Remember that the things being packed are your things, and these things you paid for with your own money.  Protect them, and make careful judgments based on the distance of your move.  You can move things on your own, with you personally handling the items safer that a mover can.  So if you have your items packed professionally, and shipped professionally, take the proper time, effort, and security that will allow your move to be done successfully.

Plan, survey, talk to movers, and trucking companies and find out how to avoid  if possible the breakage that could occur.  Also, remember to have proper insurance for your move.  Planning and packing will make your move a great experience, and the end result will be that the move will be a much less stressful and more enjoyable experience.

Make packing easier by planning ahead.

Boxes that are tightly sealed with packing tape will prevent dust from entering.

Wrap furniture legs with protective bubble wrap, furniture covers or pads to prevent scratching.

Label boxes on all sides for easy identification.

Pack as much as you can in the same size boxes.

Pack heavy items such as books and tools in small boxes.

Clean and dry appliances before storing.

Pack books flat to protect their spines.

Use lots of paper to pack dishes and glassware.

Hang clothes and draperies in wardrobe boxes.

Pack lamps and lampshades in individual boxes.

Pad mirrors and paintings with paper.
